Will I receive a debit card?
Yes, you will receive a debit card 7-10 business days after the account opening process is completed. You are able to order checks through our digital banking platform.
Will this affect my credit?
No. We do not perform a credit check for this promotional offer. The skip-a-payment offer is not considered a late or delinquent payment. You should have no adverse effect to your credit score. However, you must be in a good standing to apply.
Is there a fee to apply?
There is no fee to apply.

*Offer subject to payment history, all Maine State Credit Union loans must be current and in good standing. Finance charges and voluntary insurance will continue to accrue during the “no payment” deferral period. No payment deferral period will increase the total finance charges the borrower will pay over the life of the loan. You may not be eligible for this program if you have already done one skip-a-pay or have had a hardship deferral. This offer is unavailable to existing Maine State Credit Union Checking account holders or members whose checking accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance. Account opening is based on approval.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must continue to make your auto loan payment until we confirm your skip-a-pay has been processed. If Maine State Credit Union has set up an automatic payment to your loan, the payment(s) for that month will be deferred. If you have set up a recurring payment through online or mobile banking or through a Bill Payment service, you will need to defer the payment(s) for the month. Offer expires 45 days after promotional offer was sent to member.
